ORIGINAL POST FROM 5/16:
Hi All,

I have a ton of comics that I am looking to get rid of trying to find a new home for. I know the shops are not always interested in buying big collections.

I am thinking of bundling them into sets and selling them on one of the local FB sites, or through here. I am trying to gauge interest before I go through everything. It's a lot of runs from late 90's through about 2005-7 (Marvel, DC, Vertigo, Dark Horse and indies), and a TON of b-list titles from the 70s and 80s (Think Marvel Two-in-One, Defenders, Marvel Teamup and more).

Just a small selection

I plan on putting bundles together for 5-10$ for 20-50 comics each.

Is there any interest? Can you think or a better way to do this?

Let me know - comics@aktriv.com.

Thanks

-tpn

In Trivia We Trust! Barmacy at 7:30

Today is the 107th anniversary of the Supreme Court's decision in
Standard Oil Co. of New Jersey v. United States, one of the most significant cases in early anti-trust law. Standard Oil was broken into dozens of smaller companies.  Today, many of them have reformed into beloved environmental crusader, ExxonMobil.

Truly, this is the best of all possible worlds.

What other hallowed and venerated modern corporation and member of the S&P 500 can trace its start to a business that was opened up 77 years ago today?

Triviators of Akron UNITE! You have nothing to lose but your dignity - BACK at BARMACY!

Hey All,

Last Call Trivia is back in Akron, with a new show starting at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, May 1.

(Yes, I am hosting. . . )

Some of you may recognize it from a short engagement I had when they were still in the Valley.

They have moved from there into Highland Square, and upped their food and drink game considerably.

There is a $3 craft beer special, and prizes for first ($20) and second ($10) places.
(Prizes are gift certificates, and good for food only.)

Please check them out on Facebook.

On a very personal note, thank you to all of you who offered me emails and messages of support and show suggestions.  I really appreciate it, and I am thrilled to have a local show again!

3 weeks at Nano Brew

Nano Brew Cleveland

Hey all,

No news on a local show, but I am subbing for a host up in Cleveland for the next three weeks.

I'll be at Nano Brew  tonight 2/6, 2/13, and 2/20.
The show starts at 8pm.

Their address is
1859 W 25th St, Cleveland, OH 44113

Here's their  "About Us" from their webpage:

Bringing the Craft of the brew to lovely Ohio City

Nano Brew Cleveland is a friendly neighborhood brewpub with 24 beers on draft both at the inside bar and at the lively outdoor Beer Garden Bar. Enjoy a freshly brewed beer from our 1 barrel brewhouse or any of the other local craft breweries we feature on draft. Brewmaster Andy Tveekrem brings over two decades of award-winning brewing experience to this small but mighty brewhouse to turn out adventurous and at times experimental brews. From one of a kind brews to recipes that might make it to full scale production at our Market Garden Brewery just down the block, the lineup of beers will change daily.
Pair one of our delicious brews with one of our award-winning burgers! Cleveland Magazine named the Acid Trip the ‘Most Unique’ burger in Cleveland. The Spicy burger made Thrillist’s list of 33 “Best Burgers in America!”

I know tonight is short notice, but I'd love to see any of you up there.

Frank's for the Memories

Happy New Year, All!

Holy Carp! I thought Rob was transported into the far past, after falling off a waterfall in a raft with his family.

Ummmmmm. . . no, I did take some time off, but more on that later.

It is with sadness that I am letting you know that Frank's Place on Market will no longer be hosting Last Call trivia in 2018.

Frank said that it was a tough decision, but that they are going to be trying some new things in the New Year.

I am happy for our run at Frank's, and I wish him and the crew there nothing but the best.

Thank you Frank, Kaci, Tara, Todd, Tom, Dave Julie, Tiffany, and anyone else that I may have missed for your support for the past two years.

MEANWHILE - if you have any leads on a good venue for Last Call Trivia, PLEASE send me:

  • Venue Name / Address / Website
  • A phone number
  • The name of the owner or a manager who could make a decision on something like this
Send all that to me at trivialeads@aktriv.com.
Anyone who sends me leads with all of the information above will get my undying gratitude and a special prize of nominal value.  If you send me your realworld address I will mail it, or we can arrange a meet at a neutral location.

IF YOUR LEAD IS GREAT AND THEY BOOK TRIVIA - I'll pay your next tab, up to $ 25.00.

Excelsior et Irrumabo Carcinodes!

Much love,
Rob

Uh, hey, Rob?  You said something about later?

Yeah, I did.

Hello?

Hey?

Yes, I'm still here.
