June is Actually Bustin' Out All Over! Tonight at Baxter's! 8:00 pm

WELCOME TO SUMMER!

Ummm, Rob, I hate to correct you, but summer actually starts on June 21.

I have two replies to that:

    1.) No you don't.
           and
    b.) You're wrong.

Hey, Rob. . . you mixed your list headers.

I know that. I meant to do thatAnyway, you are wrong.

No, I'm pretty sure about this

Well, we could ask a meteorologist!

What do comets have to do with this?

Seriously?

In studying weather, especially when comparing it across years, meteorologists don't use the traditional astronomical seasons.  They use a meteorological calendar. They start seasons at the beginninng of the month.  That means that summer runs June-July-Augst, with fall running from September to November.  It makes quite a bunch of sense, and lines up with the way we typically think of seasons.

(Or at least the way I think of the seasons.  If you've spent some time in Akron in early December, you might start thinking of it as winter too. It also lines up with school calendars quite nicely.)

Anyway:

It's Sumertime!

Prestige Quiz - SUMERTIME AND THE LIVING IS EASY edition:

The Epic of Gilgamesh is one of the oldest surviving myths.
In the tale, Gilgamesh was a king who shared a bloodline with both humans and the gods.
(Think of Spock, being half-human, half-Vulcan.)

What percent human was Gilgamesh?

Slightly better prize for the randomly picked winner from correct entries.
