Happy Birthday to someone who has had a massive impact on pop culture, and my life, starting from earliest childhood.
Today would have been Carmine Infantino's 91st birthday.
You can click on some of these links to see his impact on comics.
He was a co-parent to the Silver Age of Comics, penciling the DC Showcase #4, the first appearance of the modern Flash, as well as the classic issue #123 of The Flash - "The Flash of Two Worlds." This was the issue that introduced the world to Earth-Two - still one of my favorite fictional concepts.
He passed away in 2013. The links above have a ton of great information about him, if you are so inclined.
I always loved his covers - both compelling, and occasionally bananapants :
He was also the first artist to draw Batgirl:
TONIGHT'S PRESHOW Q:
The version of the Flash that Infantino co-created was famously killed by DC Comics in the 1980s. What series and issue number was Barry Allen's swansong ?
Answer IN PERSON, after 7:50.
